Suddenly in Command is back by popular demand! The Connecticut Port Authority is again sponsoring this free public course provided by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6-8pm in Old Saybrook.

Come learn what to do if the captain becomes unable to safely operate the boat. Whether due to a medical emergency, accident, or impairment, knowing how to respond can help keep everyone safe. Even simple skills, like using a VHF radio to call for assistance, can make a critical difference in an emergency.
