CT Port Authority seeks input on new MENTOR Futures sponsorship program.

The Connecticut Port Authority is rolling out a new sponsorship initiative aimed at expanding maritime learning for young people across the state. The public’s voice is wanted as they finalize it.

The proposed Maritime Education Networking and Training Opportunity for Residents-Futures Sponsorship Program (MENTOR Futures) was officially published in the Connecticut Law Journal on June 9, 2026. The program is designed to support Pre-K to 12 maritime education, field experiences, and community‑based programming that help students explore Connecticut’s waterfront, maritime activities, and maritime career pathways.

Now that the draft policy and procedures are public, the Authority is inviting residents, educators, parents, and maritime partners to weigh in on MENTOR Futures.
