The Connecticut Port Authority Board of Directors has approved the Policies and Procedures for the Small Harbor Improvement Projects Program (SHIPP) grant, opening new opportunities for harbor infrastructure and dredging projects. For the first time, the program is available to both municipalities and private entities, expanding its reach across the state.

Applications open January 21, 2026 and close February 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., with funding decisions expected on or about March 25, 2026. The SHIPP program is designed to improve safe, reliable access to Connecticut’s harbors and ports while helping offset incremental costs tied to regulatory compliance and related requirements.
