Bond Commission approves funding for SHIPP grant.

The Connecticut Bond Commission approved the Connecticut Port Authority’s request for funds to support Round 5 of the Small Harbor Improvement Projects Program (SHIPP). The Request for Applications (RFA) for SHIPP is expected to open in Quarter 1 of 2026. Potential applicants, both municipalities and private entities, are advised to follow the Port Authority on Facebook or Linkedin and check the Port Authority website for further announcements.

Applicants may review a draft of the updated SHIPP Policies and Procedures posted on the Connecticut Law Journal to better understand the application process in advance of the RFA. The Policies and Procedures will be finalized after the public comment period closes on January 5, 2026 and the Board of Directors has reviewed and approved them.

The application period will be opened for 30 days once the RFA is released in Quarter 1 of 2026. The review committee and Board of Directors will then consider all applications collectively with final selections announced 60 days after the release of the RFA.

Questions about the process may be addressed to SHIPP@ctportauthority.com prior to the release of the RFA.
