From recreational boating and tourism to commercial fishing, Connecticut’s small harbors are an important part of our maritime economy, generating significant revenue for the local and regional businesses impacted by the harbors’ use. To help small harbors maximize their economic potential, the Connecticut Port Authority can aid in driving infrastructure projects that keep these waterways safe and operational.

Our team can direct municipalities to resources and financial assistance for projects, as well as connect small harbors with state and federal agencies that can address specific needs or challenges. These agencies include the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
